What's Happening... Important Dates
Wow! Students did a great job on the Foundational Skills Summative Exam! Keep up the fantastic work!
During November, we will be studying Chapter 1 - Digging up the Past, which is our archaeology chapter. We will discuss how we use archaeology to learn about past cultures. We will examine how archaeologists study the lives of early humans by excavating ancient sites and analyzing the artifacts they find. We will explore the progression of early peoples from hunters and gatherers to farmers, and how they domesticated plants and animals, settled in villages, and developed complex cultures.
The classroom will be transformed into an excavation site, and students will become archaeologists digging for artifacts! They will have to analyze the artifacts they discover and draw conclusions about the civilization that may have created them.
